Beyond the call of duty

Beyond the call of duty

Seth on TVSean Callebs, a CCTV Correspondent with more than 20-years experience at CNN, called Standard Heating & Air Conditioning to meet up with Seth on Wednesday. Headquartered in Beijing, CCTV broadcasts news from the U.S. and China. Sean was interested about how this sub-freezing cold made Seth Roe among the most popular people in the city:

“People love to see me. They are happy that I am arriving and even happier when I am leaving and their house is warming up,” Seth said. He’s put putting in long days, breathing life back into home furnaces that have been choked to death by the arctic weather.

Seth is part of our great service team, and focuses in getting furnaces back to working conditions. Our expert technicians go beyond the call of duty to help customers. “I feel bad for people when I walk in and they got a stocking gap on their head and mittens on their hands. And it is two in the afternoon and it’s 45 degrees,” Seth says.

There are some things you can do as a home owner to prevent a system failure at the worst possible time:

Change the Filter Regularly
Inspect your filter every month. If the filter looks dirty, change it. At a minimum, change the furnace filter every 3 months. A dirty filter will slow down air flow and make the system work harder, wasting energy; on the other hand, a clean filter will prevent dust and dirt from building up in the system that could lead to an early system failure. Order your furnace filters online and get them delivered to your door; check our Order Filters page.

Tune Up Your Equipment Yearly
We recommend following manufacturer’s guidelines of regular maintenance. A yearly tune-up of your each equipment, furnace and air conditioner, can improve the efficiency and comfort and decrease the need for repairs over time. Check out the benefits of our Smart Club.
