Minneapolis Happening List 2014 Winner
This annual Happening List is the result of a “people’s choice” contest conducted by Minneapolis Happening. This is a premier online magazine “providing real-time local coverage of restaurants, events, people, and everything else fun and exciting in the area.” Readers themselves nominate and vote on all the organizations for the annual list, which is one of the reasons this recognition is so meaningful.

Minnesota Keystone Program 2011 Honored Company
The Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce launched Minnesota Keystone in 1976 to recognize companies that enhance the quality of life in Minnesota by giving back a percentage of pre-tax net earnings every year. In the category of small company, Standard Heating & Air Conditioning received the award for its philanthropy activities, which include collaborating with Rebuilding Together to improve the lives of low-income homeowners, supporting the Fourth Avenue North Playground, and organizing a community Paint-A-Thon. In addition to our 2011 recognition, we have been a Keystone member since 1996.
White House Official Visits Standard in 2010
In January 2010, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner toured our facility in North Minneapolis. While there, he spent considerable time in both the training room and the metal shop. He met with co-owners Ted and Todd Ferrara and with other employees. The Secretary expressed interest in the company’s commitment to staff training and retention. Officials at Sunrise Community Banks, which the U.S. Department of Treasury certified as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), coordinated Giethner’s visit to Standard Heating & Air Conditioning. Secretary Geithner later referenced his visit to Standard Heating & Air Conditioning when talking about small business-led job creation in a hearing before the United States Senate Committee on Finance, part of the Analysis of the President’s Fiscal Year 2011 Budget.
