Angie’s List Super Service Award
Standard Heating & Air Conditioning has received the Super Service Award 21 years in a row!
Standard Heating & Air Conditioning has earned the service industry’s coveted Angie’s List Super Service Award for the twentieth consecutive year. This award reflects consistent exemplary service provided to the Twin Cities seven county area. In addition, Angie’s List Super Service Award winners have met strict eligibility requirements. These include an “A” rating in overall grade, recent grade, and review period grade. The company must be in good standing with Angie’s List, pass a background check and abide by Angie’s List operational guidelines. Angie’s List updates service company ratings daily on their website. They grade companies on an A through F scale in areas ranging from price to professionalism to punctuality.
“Only about 5 percent of the heating and cooling companies in the
Twin Cities market have performed so consistently well enough to earn
our Super Service Award. It’s a really high standard.”
– Angie’s List Founder Angie Hicks
BBB Accredited Business
Since 1972, we have been a Better Business Bureau (BBB) accredited business. We have also received an A+ grade, based on the BBB rating system. This rating is based on the length of time our business has been operating, the complaint history and responsiveness, transparency, and licensing.
Minneapolis Happening List 2014 Winner
This annual Happening List is the result of a “people’s choice” contest conducted by Minneapolis Happening. This is a premier online magazine “providing real-time local coverage of restaurants, events, people and everything else fun and exciting in the area.” Readers themselves nominate and vote on all the organizations for the annual list, which is one of the reasons this recognition is so meaningful.
Minnesota Keystone Program 2011 Honored Company
The Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce launched Minnesota Keystone in 1976 to recognize companies that enhance the quality of life in Minnesota by giving back a percentage of pre-tax net earnings every year. In the category of small company, Standard Heating & Air Conditioning received the award for its philanthropy activities, which include collaborating with Rebuilding Together to improve the lives of low-income homeowners, supporting the Fourth Avenue North Playground, and organizing a community Paint-A-Thon. In addition to our 2011 recognition, we have been a Keystone member since 1996.
White House Official Visits Standard in 2010
In January 2010, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner toured our facility in North Minneapolis. While here, he spent considerable time in both the training room and metal shop. He met with co-owners Ted and Todd Ferrara and with other employees. The Secretary expressed interest in the company’s commitment to staff training and retention. Officials at Sunrise Community Banks, which the U.S. Department of Treasury certified as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), coordinated Giethner’s visit to Standard Heating & Air Conditioning. Secretary Geithner later referenced his visit to Standard Heating when talking about small business-led job creation in a hearing before the United States Senate Committee on Finance, part of the Analysis of the President’s Fiscal Year 2011 Budget.
