Standard Heating & Air Conditioning is pleased to announce it received the Keytsone Honored Company award at the recent Minnesota Keystone Awards Luncheon on December 14 at the Hyatt Regency in Minneapolis. Two other companies, Weber Shandwick and Mortenson Construction were also recognized. The three companies were chosen from nearly 200 Minnesota Keystone Companies.
Launched in 1976 by the Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Minnesota Keystone program recognizes companies that enhance the quality of life in Minnesota by giving back at least two percent of pre-tax net earnings. The awards go to companies in three size categories: small business (less than 75 employees), medium-sized company (76-499 employees), and large companies (500+ employees). Standard Heating & Air Conditioning is the recipient of the small business category. A Keystone member since 1996, the company was recognized for its longstanding and varied community contributions.
"We are honored to receive this award," said co-owner Todd Ferrara. "We are a family-owned business, and are committed to retaining the legacy of our father Tony Ferrara. He started this company in 1930, with a simple gesture of helping a neighbor install a furnace. That willingness to help others lives on in our employees today." Ferrara continued, "Our employees are dedicated to sharing their skills, talents and
enthusiasm to better the lives of our neighbors across the Twin Cities. We are extremely pleased with this recognition of that commitment."
Standard Heating & Air Conditioning’s involvement with the community is extensive and diverse. In an ongoing collaboration with Rebuilding Together, their home improvement expertise has enhanced the lives of countless low-income homeowners. As a good neighbor gesture, the company recently made a significant contribution to the Forth Avenue North Playground, near their new headquarters on Plymouth Avenue North. And employees chose to participate in a Paint-A-Thon last spring, helping a homeowner in dire need. In addition the company is highly involved in partnerships or collaborations with the Center of Energy and Environment, Community Action of Minneapolis, Guild Incorporated, and Homeward Bound. A strong advocate for education advancement and training, Standard Heating & Air Conditioning is also involved with Construction Education Foundation of Minnesota, and Dunwoody College of Technology.
"We are dedicated to providing living wages, meaningful employment, and helping make the Twin Cities a strong and vibrant community," said co-owner Ted Ferrara. "We support our employees in their efforts to give back to the community, and trust their efforts, and our ongoing involvement, will exemplify the core values of our company, and our heritage, for generations to come." |
